Senior SharePoint Software Development Engineer

Client: Gaia Technologies Plc.
Location – Bangor
Salary – £35,000

Main purpose of job:
To work on client/server and web based development projects throughout the software lifecycle, from requirements analysis, design and development to testing, release management and support

Skills & Abilities:
The role will involve working on a variety of SharePoint client projects, the ideal candidate will be largely self motivated, a team player, flexible, have excellent client facing & communication skills.

The ability to lead small teams, provide mentorship and technical leadership to other developers is important.

Proven experience in all aspects of SharePoint software development projects, a commitment to utilising methodologies and to software process improvement is essential.

Knowledge of some of the following:

  • Languages: VB.Net, VB, VBA, VBScript
  • Database: SQL Server, Access
  • Web Skills: ASP.Net, IIS, ASP, XML, HTML
  • Operating Systems: Win 2000, Win 2003, XP
  • Other: Project management, development methodology, process improvement

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of SharePoint software development
  • Some project/team leading desirable
  • Previous experience of client facing roles highly desirable

Training/Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree is desirable
  • Industry certifications (Microsoft, etc)
  • Ability, enthusiasm and desire for continuous learning

Other requirements:

  • Valid drivers license preferable
